This is a common problem for many of us sufferers! I feel exactly the same as you do!
I am currently practising a technique called mindfulness meditation - it's a process where you can relax your mind and dispel anxious thoughts. An ex-agoraphobe friend recommended it to me and I thought it was worth a try. I can send you a CD if you want.
There's also a really great book that I'm reading called 'In Stillness Conquer Fear', written by Pauline McKinnon who also used to be agoraphobic until she discovered meditation.
