Hi Remus

I'm having real problems with my anxiety levels now. Started on Anti Depressant Seroxat Tuesday they seem to have sent my anxiety sky high - very poor sleep patterns following by no sleep at all last night. Feel like someone has given me a shot of adrenaline.

Spoke to the doctor this morning and he said come off them. It's really driving me mad now. Because I have not felt ok to drive yet (live in small village) I have been mostly in the housebound during the week for 9 weeks. Although I have tried to keep busy cutting the grass and going for walks - I have had far too much time to think about things, and the anxiety followed by depression has followed. I find it so hard that everything in my life has changed drastically over the last few months. Nothing feels quite real! From being a person always out working, going to the gym etc. its weird. But I feel really scared about going back out into that world while dizzy.

I am sure that loads of other people feel the same - but really wish I could get a grip on my anxiety.

Hope your managing to keep a lid on yours - guess it's harder for you guys you can't really have a good cry with your mates.

Lizzie

Hi Remus ! You got the book i see ! thats great !

for myself I think the anxiety was horrible before finding this site and having a good cry and some vent sessions ! Now when I feel off or down and dizzy !

I can tell myself "iam not nuts", I am dizzy ! its caused from my ears.. not my mind and with that I find piece ! Just keep trying to remind yourself , Yes its physical but your mind can control the anxiety still ! It will start to pass

Hi Lizziew

hang in there ! I still barely drive myself , I am getting better with it and never thought I would ! Try not to put pressure on yourself ! be kind to yourself " I am not driving at this time because I am dizzy ! I will not be dizzy forever it will pass and things will improve ! Keep positive ! You will be able to drive again but in your time and when you are ready ! you have done it in the pass and you will be able to again !

when I get negative on myself I fall into a ditch ! but when I think sensibly and past the panic its all really just silly talk ! being negative is very depressing in itself ! and you have every right to feel down ! who wouldnt ? being dizzy all the time totally cramps your style , I know where you are coming from !...... I also think to myself things could be a lot worse !

Hope this makes sense !

(p.s.... those pills were the worst ones EVER for me ! keep searching for the right ones and ask your doc if you can start off slow so they enter your system slowly then if there are any side effects you wont notice them as drastically ! )

Oh I'm no macho man me, I'm a big girls blouse and don't mind showing it

thanks for the advice folks, I'll try and ignore the physical symptoms abit more and tell myself its just dizzyness and not life threatening, not let the anxiety take hold as much!

Yeah I'd bin those pills, in all my years of anxiety, no pill ever worked, solving it all in my head was the answer, Pills are just like a dummy (retainer) you have to grow out of them!
