i am a 29 year old female who has been dizzy about 3 weeks now.
it's making me depressed and i'm terrified. i suffer from intense anxiety and now depression. i was doing quite well by swimming, acupuncture, energy work, walking, eating lots of greens, vitamins, etc. i started to get dizzy about 3 weeks ago. i went to an ent yesterday who think it's migraine-related. i was started on inderal. i am totally scared and feel helpless. it's making my anxiety worse. i haven't been to work in over a week now. it's just all piling up on me. does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? does this ever stop? any suggestions would help. thank you. |

Sam, When I see a new post, I get nervous and want to reply right away. However, there are so many people who know much more than I do and I'm sure they will be posting replies very soon. Let me encourage you not to be so frightened even though it is a very frightening thing in the beginning. As frightening as it is, it isn't life-threatening. There are so many tests you probably should have to get a proper diagnosis. Most of us feel that a Neurotologist would be the best person to see for those tests. It is also very easy to become depressed with this. Perhaps you should ask your doctor to put you on a mild anti-depressant if you can't beat the depression. I'm sure you will get better. Hopefully, the med your ENT put you on will take care of the problem. Just read some of the threads here and you can pick up a lot of information. Hang in there. Encouragement is on the way. Yvonne

It can be very frightening, I have had a range of symptoms for nearly 4 months now and I'm due to see a neurologist in two weeks time. The fear definitely feeds anxiety until the anxiety becomes the larger problem. I am very reluctant to resort to meds unless I really have to, I just battle on for now. I just try to keep telling myself to relax and take it in my stride, but I agree, the whole thing can be very scary, and hard to get handle on.
