View Full Version : Big mess up
Hi just thought i'd let you know that (if you already didn't anyway) that all my private messages are mixed up and not mine, i have other peoples private messages which really should not be there they are private after all. So for instance they are my titles BUT open the post up and it is a private message to and from someone else. I don't really want other people reading my private mail as well.
I assume everybodies are like this.

Doesnt appear to be affecting all users yet - my messages where ok - we will look into this for you
Ive turned off the PM system at present to carry out further investigation.
This has now been fixed - although we have had to delete all existing PM's from the system.
Has the PM system been turned back on because I can't find it??
Yes the PM are Back on
Click on User CP - Look for Your Control Panel menu left handside - Then about 1/2 way down is Private Messaging.
Hope that helps
Jay
Hi Jay,
I think I am missing lots of links. For instance at the top of the page where it would normally say 'new posts' etc there is nothing there. I can see a blue bar at the top but it's mostly hidden and I can just see the word 'room' which I assume is the chat room. I notice that my 'compatability mode' icon disappears from my browser when I come to this website and I think that is where the problem lies.
Any ideas?
There are some odd things happening. It doesn't keep me logged in even though I have ticked the box. When I log in it tells me I have but it then looks like I haven't until I click to read a section and then I appear logged in.

Cant replicate the fault! im using Firefox 3.5.6 and it is working as normal.
Could you confirm what your browser is? Please note Microsoft IE 8 has problems with most forum based sites so firefox is our recommendation.
It might be worth you sending me your username and password so that i can login as you!

Hi,
I am using IE 8 and the missing links is a problem with the 'fundamentals skin'. I find the Christmas one too visually busy for me.
we are working on a new skin (default) which should be ready shortly.

I am using Firefox and was using it y/day when the problems were occuring. So far today things seem to have corrected themselves.
Also, I can't seem to put an avatar on? When I go to section in UserCP it just says "do not use avatar" there is not option to upload one.
What a mess !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just let me know when it is sorted.

I don't know whether I've missed something but I can only log in by replying to a thread, so if I just want to browse I can't. The log in boxes on the top right aren't active plus I'm missing half of the home page with its headings etc. Sorry to be difficult, lol.
Miss Dizzy, have you reset your password? There's a notice about it at the top of the page.

I thought I did Pam... or maybe I didn't do it correctly. I'll try again, thanks.
