Default The exhaustion- a rant

One thing that I am fed up with more than the actual dizziness and vertigo, is the exhaustion that comes with it.

5/7 days I sleep way more than normal, and the rest of the time, I am just sitting, either on the sofa, or by the computer feeling completely weak and knackered.

I do try and go out most days for a short walk, but by the time I come back I nearly colapse I am so exhausted.

I hate this. Rolll on ENT appointment May 21st.

I know what you mean about the exhaustion vics, being dizzy wears you out. I find if I have to stand and talk to someone for a while I'm exhausted afterwards.

Yea, it is really hard. That is the main part stopping me being at work at the moment. My body just can't physically cope with a normal days work. I am working a bit from home whilst I am signed off, so my brains getting a bit of activity, but I just want to be able to feel myself again.

Totally agree

Still working 4 days a week but go home and to exhausted to do anything else

Can handle the wobbles with the help of a walking stick but will shortly need matchsticks to keep my eyes open

Ahh I was wondering about this, I do something one day, head home, feel dizzy all that night and then fatigued the next day. Its like the ME and Chronic fatigue syndrome that my friend suffers from

Fatigue is a really common problem with dizziness. It's one of the things that I find most diffecult to deal with. It's easing up with time and as my dizziness improves but it is slow to shift...

Have you mentioned to your GP that you are struggling so much with the tiredness? Because it might be worth checking out that there is nothing else going on along with the dizziness to cause such exhaustion e.g. anaemia, thyroid problems.

I hope your ENT apt. goes well,
Clare xxx

Remus-Yes, very similar to ME in that way, that is how I have been feeling recently

Claire-Have mentioned it to the docs, but they dont seem to take any notice. Don't think it is anyting other than the dizzies, as I can always tell, if I am spinning at night, that the next day Iam going tobe knocked for six energy wise.

Vics,
It was just incase. I used to have the night dizzies really badly and there were several months when the dizziness woke me up every couple of hours. I reached the absolutely exhausted stage, it was horrible. It really does knock you for six. I'm sorry - I didn't realise you were having such problems with the sleeping. Maybe it's worth asking for some sleeping tablets to take every now and again to get the odd proper nights sleep?

The only thing I can say is that the night dizziness does ease as the rest of the dizziness eases making the fatigue less severe.
Take care,
Clare xxx

Last four days I've woke up feeling pretty ok but as the day wares on I become more and more exhausted and get weak wobbly legs, this is a new thing with my illness, feels like the ME/CFS my mate suffers from, I've been doing nothing but rest aswell.

been sleeping and eating ok too so cant be that

I get weak and wobbly legs as well and am completely exhausted all the time. I worry that I have ME as well as MAV but given that the fatigue and dizziness started at exactly the same time I have to conclude that it is the dizziness is making me this tired. I am thinking about asking my Doctor about it though.
