Default Getting on with VRT

Hello!

Am just finishing second month of VRT and am starting to 'feel' some movement when I turn my head - actually that sounds a bit wierd .. does this ring any bells with anyone else doing VRT,(it would be nice to know I'm haven't gone completely banana)?

Also, anyone know how long it generally takes before VOR exercises start to work (or does it depend on the individual)? Or do the VRT exercises have to work first?

Cheers,
Jon.

Hi Jon,
Im Beverley and I have undiagnosed vertigo, and am still waiting for an ansa some years along. I did those exercises u speak about and I think I gave up too easily because they made me feel worse at first. The physiotherapist didnt explain what I was doing them for!! If she had then I would have perservered. Keep at em matey I think they are good in the long term. Have a look on the posts and read about them I think it would be helpful, good luck.

Hi Jon

the feeling you describe of movement in your head is quite common with dizziness. As for the vrt, hang in there and keep it up. for it to work it has to make you dizzy, once it stops making you dizzy you would need more difficult exercises. recover isnt linear and it can take some time, some ppl notice a difference in a few weeks and for others it can take a few months. persevere with them and maybe keep a diary of how you are feeling each day then you can look back and see how you have improved.

Feeling weird sensations is normal in your progression. I still get them off and on, but they will get less and less with time. Some times you get used to them and then your body ignores them. Anyway Keep up with the exersizes. They will help.

Hey Jon

I have been doing VRT since February and I have made some progress, it does happen slowly and steadily. Hit a bit of a stagnant phase at the moment but it is probably because we are onto the more taxing movements.

Hang in there, I am!!!

Hi

What sort of exercises do you actually do when you have formal VRT? Are they just like the cawthorne cooksey.

No trouble, thelight - just so long as they're sent by PM or email and not posted on the site.
