Hi sickofit

It doesn't happen to me so I can't advise you, but I came across this post by Tom Boismier in a topic in Miscellaneous Questions about nose-blowing and dizziness - it has some good advice about popping your ears.

"Occasional minor symptoms with nose-blowing is pretty common in all vestibular disoders, because most folks move their head when they blow. Holding your nose and blowing (Valsalva) can be dangerous when done too vigorously , make sure you apply only slight pressure, then gradually increase pressure until the ear pops or you get to about halfway to as far as you can 'push' - moderate pressure. If the ear won't pop, don't increase pressure as high as you can, call the doctor. Reverse Valsalva (hold your nose and swallow) is safer."
