Oh man! I like that game. Haven't played it in a while though. I guess by wobbly you mean you feel off-balance. When I was watching guitar hero there was actually continued movement even after the motion of the game stopped. I actually experienced something similar when I was on a train for four hours and I was sitting backwards on it for the whole ride. I guess it was motion sickness but when the train finally reached its destination, things were still moving for me (as if I were still on the train even though I had gotten off of it).

VERY BIZARRE. I guess that's part of motion sickness although this hasn't happened to me until recently. I used to just get a little queezy and perhaps off-balance a tad but now a new motion sickness symptom. Oh wonderful! Should make the cruise that I have planned for later this year especially pleasant!

my son has guitar hero and I feel a bit peculiar if I watch the tabs going up the screen..in the same way that scrolling my pc screen up makes me nearly fly off my chair!

Heya,
I only just found this thread. It is very very common for people with dizziness problems to find their symptoms are exacerbated with visual movements e.g. supermarkets, crowds, patterns, computer games, scrolling computer games... It's called visual vertigo and I have big problems with it!!

I've just been to see a specialist again to help me get rid of these symptoms and playing computer games is on my list of things that is really good to help improve it!! I can now play solitaire which used to make me feel awful, have moved on to pinball and apparently car racing games are excellent!!! So I reckon the guitar game is probably excellent too!

It's because your brain gets balance info from 3 different places - your inner ears, eyes and ankles and hips. If your eyes are saying something's moving (because your watching a moving image on a computer screen) but your ears say that you're stationary... it gets even worse when you've gotten a problem with your inner ear and one ear says your still, another says your doing wierd things, and your eyes say that things are moving... your body gets dizzy, disorientating and maybe sick. It's a bit like travel sickness.

I hope that this helps,
Clare xxx

Alot of doctors label dizziness as labs when it is in fact vn. but it is hard to tell the difference apart from the hearing loss which is a big clue. I think with menieres disease there is hearing loss also. Migraine associated vertigo is another possibility, you dont always get headaches with this and it might be worth looking into. good luck.
Thanks for these clarifications. I've been reading SO much about the causes of these symptoms that sometimes I can't remember which symptoms apply to which disease anymore!!

It would be really cool if someone posted an entire thread on the different problems that can occur in the inner ear (most recently I was reading about vestibular lesion and acoustic neuromas). Wow! There is so much out there on the subject but it is soooo difficult to diagnose and treat!

I play Mario Brothers and Zelda on the DS - they don't seem to make me as dizzy as the games on the Playstation or the PC do.
I can't even watch others playing Playstation games, the swooping movements and camera angles kill me

Hi ravyn,

the best thing you can do for yourself for now hun is stop lookin on the internet for answers, self diagnosis is a dangerous thing and theres so much scary stuff out there its enough to give you anxiety if you dont already have it. Yes, it is very difficult to diagnose some inner ear disorders. If you are seeing a doctor or specialist the best thing to do is write down all your symptoms because they use your history to give them clues to what might be the problem along with various tests. Alot of the symptoms are common with all dizzy disorders which makes it even tougher. Hopefully you will get some answers soon. meantime stay as active as you can witout overdoing it as this is good for helping the brain to compensate.

Tell me about is Pam, I can play Football Manager on my latop, but even thats a stretch, but thats easier because its no moving images, except the little tiny dots running around the pitch.

Whats ironic is I own an X-Box, PSP, PS and a DS and I can't touch any of them, quite annoying when all these games I like are on their way!

I also reitterate what Agnes says, using the net primarily can be useful as you find places like this, but looking around too much can lead to worry and panic, why I should be dead right now from a brain tumour, colon cancer and all sorts if googles to be believed!

I think having dizziness can bring out the hypochondriac in us anyway so it's best to use the internet for support and not diagnosis. And the 'miracle cures' out there are simply scams to make people part with their money

Guitar Hero does not sound up my alley. I will stick to my Book Worm game on the computer.

Tom thanks for your replies

I have the same problem with guitar hero, and its very annoying. I used to love the game but am unable to play it at all now, I cannot even watch when someone else is playing, if i do, when i look away from the screen, everything i look at looks like its scrolling/moving up and down, its a very weird and unpleasant sensation.
