Finally received all my results back, and following my echo scan, my previously diagnosed murmur(7 yrs ago) has deteriorated into a bicupsid aorta.
This however according to my cardiologist was not the reason fro my diziness/nausea/lightheadidness etc (although a bit of research on the internet says otherwise). His view is that I had a vestibular problem. And discussed more about that with me than my ENT did. He plans no intervention apart from follow up scans on a regular basis, and antibiotics when I go to the dentist (which I already take). Anyone suffer from anything similar - although I guess this is probably not the right board ![]() |

Oh my gosh, you just sparked a memory for me. I wore a heart monitor for 24 hours about a year go! The results came back normal except for a sticky valve. My EKG was normal. That's what they called it. My doctor said it's no big deal and said a lot of people have this and sent me home. I went to the doctor and they made me wear a heart monitor because I was having chest wall pain. It hurt when I took a deep breath and it was sore when I laid down at night. I didn't sleep for months because of it and had convinced myself I was dying of bone/breast cancer or something because my chest wall on my left was swelling!
They did an MRI and a sonogram of my breast. They all came back showing swelling. Of course no one knows what the swelling was. They still don't know. It's been a year! A long year. I didn't get vestibular symptoms until last October which was 6 months after the chest wall problem. They have since decided I have soft tissue swelling in my sternum/chest wall and that my sticky valve in my heart was nothing. After reading your post I'm wondering if they were wrong. Granted, my caloric test showed a huge imbalance I think they might be on the wrong track and it just might be a heart issue? I think one of my ear balance centers has been broken since I was a child. I don't know! NO ONE KNOWS! LOL Oh my goodness all of this is so crazy some days I just have to laugh to break up all the crying. I'm going to look back into the heart issue and give that a go since VRT and every ENT I've seen sends me packing! I'm still experiencing swelling in my soft tissue and pain as well. It never goes away. Of course they don't know why or where it came from. I also get severe chills and cold ALL the time, even though the temperature of the room is always above 70. Oh this mystery we call life. I just want to live and relaxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx! ![]() Hugs! I shall continue on my fight for my own life and health! I believe we will all one day heal. For now, it is all I have! Lisa Lisa :girl_angel:
